wrestlers. We also had a reported sales of league cards totaling 165 wrestlers. This brings the totals to
1,014 wrestlers.

# of Coaches
The number of registered coaches decreased 10% from last season to a total of 95 coaches from 105 last
year.

# of Clubs
The number of registered coaches decreased 9% from last season to a total of 20 clubs from 22 last
year.

# of Officials
The number of registered officials increased 67% from last season to a total of 10 officials from 6 last
year.

# of Events
The number of sanctioned events decreased 14% from last season to a total of 12 events from 14 last
year.

State Tournament Participation
The state Freestyle and Greco-Roman tournament saw a decrease in both styles. The Greco-Roman
tournament decreased to 128 wrestlers from 138 (a 7% drop). The Freestyle tournament decreased to
138 wrestlers from 165 (a 16% drop). Both decreases were primarily driven by a decrease in
competitors at the Junior age division. Most other age divisions remained stable or showed an increase.
Southeast Regional Championship Participation

Tennessee sent 49 wrestlers to the Southeast Regional Freestyle Championships and 38 wrestlers to the
Greco-Roman portion of the event. This was a decrease from last year’s totals of 66 and 64 respectively.
The decrease appears to have occurred at all age levels.

Treasurer’s Report

Officials
We saw an increase in the number of registered officials for the state. However, I am not sure
we saw a corresponding increase in the number of officials actually officiating at events. Several events
still resorted to using athletes to officiate (not necessarily always a bad thing) and we had trouble filling
officials for the state tournament and for our national duals teams. There is a particular need to
continue to develop officials in the state, specifically those who may be interested in continuing their
membership in USWOA and representing TN at the national and regional level.
